A Toastmaster for your Wedding Day ?

In the planning of every Bride’s Wedding Day, it is certain that you will want to take every step possible to ensure its smooth running.
However, it is certain that at some time or other you will have attended a wedding that lacked that important “Sparkle”.
On reflection, the most likely reason was that there was no one on hand to co-ordinate the reception etiquette procedure and generally to take care of all those little unforeseen emergencies that however carefully things have been planned can always arise.

A professional Toastmaster will add that touch of dignity and efficiency to any occasion and in a friendly and courteous manner. He will ensure that the families most concerned in the success of the day are able to enjoy it to the full, relaxing in the knowledge that the day’s organisation is in safe and expert hands.

Customary matters such as the receiving line, the cutting of the cake, and of course the speeches all have to be managed. The advice of your Toastmaster is available to you from the moment he is booked, and can prove to be invaluable.

It may well be that up to now you have had no thoughts on engaging the services of such a person for your Wedding Day. Possibly, you feel that your guests would consider a formally dressed, red coated Toastmaster to be a little “over the top”. However, the modern day Toastmaster has the ability to adapt to the particular requirements of each individual function that he attends. His expertise and experience enables him to be either the Formal professional, or the Informal link-man as the day requires.

Duties of a Toastmaster

Before the Wedding Breakfast

Welcome Principal Guests on arrival at Reception.
Form Reception Line and announce the Guests.
Announce Grace.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

After the Wedding Breakfast

During the coffee, the Bride and Groom will be invited to cut their Wedding Cake.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

After the Toasts and Cake is served

Call upon the speakers in the following order……..

  1. Father of the Bride.
  2. Groom replies to the Toast and also proposes a toast to the Bridesmaids, and also present the Bridesmaids & Best Man with gifts.
  3. Best Man replies to the toast on behalf of the Bridesmaids, and reads a selection of Cards and Telegrams.
  4. It is possible that others from both sides of the family may wish to say a few words, and should be invited to do so.
  5. At this time a bouquet of flowers can be presented to both Mothers by way of thanks.

That concludes the Formal part of the Wedding Breakfast, and it is customary to thank everyone for attending and ask them to adjourn to the Bar so that the room can be re-arranged ready for the evening Celebrations.
