The musty smell was still there, but only when the car was parked up front end up?
First thoughts were the seal around the window. It wasn't flush with the car and so might be letting in some water. A garage, some free labour, and a large donner meat and chips were in need, so in the car we jumped, and off to my mum's new large garage. I knew it would come in handy one day!
After a night on the beers buttering up my brothers for the task ahead, we took the car into the garage. Nige helped remove the side window, and then soaked the seal in warm soapy water whilst we looked around the car for clues. Ian grabbed a jug and started pouring water into the drains of the sunroof. Sure enough, water trickled out 3 of the 4 corners. But the drivers rear side was dry as a bone. Further investigation showed the drain pipework to the back of the car was obviously blocked.
Stripping out the headlining allowed us access to the pipe, which I then cleared using a coathanger and large amounts of hot soapy water. Then putting it back together again, gluing, window back, and fan heater to dry it all off.
JOB DONE!
