Welcome to Bury Rifle Club

Bury Rifle Club is a well established target shooting club located between Bury and Bolton, Lancashire. The clubhouse has a five point range, clubroom, toilet and limited catering facilities and there is ample parking on the site.

It primarily caters for .22 calibre small bore rifle shooting (prone position) and there are facilities for .177 calibre air rifle and air pistol shooting although these are temporarily unused. We would be very happy to re-establish this for any new members that were interested.

Shooting is generally conducted to National Small-bore Rifle Association rules and competitive shooting at all levels is available and encouraged, however those members wishing to shoot non-competitively for recreation are equally welcome.

Newcomers to the sport may use club equipment free of charge (under supervision) and ammunition may be purchased for use strictly on the range. FAC holders may purchase ammunition from the club in the usual way. Instruction for all disciplines is available from experienced coaches for both novice and experienced shooters.

There is no minimum age limit although those under the age of twelve are unlikely to be capable of supporting a rifle adequately for serious shooting. Junior members are welcome, provided adequate adult supervision is available.

Application for membership is open to all by completion of the appropriate form which is available at the club or on this website. Full membership is usually conditional upon satisfactory completion of a probationary period. Juniors must have their application forms countersigned by a parent or guardian and we prefer parents or guardians to accompany juniors to the club for at least the first few visits.
