A very old Royal Burgh, Renfrew gives the Prince of Wales the title of Baron, and is
considered to be the "cradle" of the Royal Stewarts. In recent years the town has suffered the lack of
orders of most Clyde shipbuilding places and yards have closed but the proximity to Glasgow
Airport and the new shopping development of Braehead provides some revenue. The nearby Inchinnan
Church was once the property of the Knoghts Templar before being rebuilt and there are graves from that order in
the churchyard.
