THE BAND

Welcome to the Official web site of Far Canal, the best 'Covers' band in the East Midlands.
Far Canal reformed in 2002 after three old school friends contacted each other via 'Friends Reunited'.
All three had played music in various school bands back in the sixties and early seventies and after losing contact for nearly thirty years they decided to reform and go back on the road!

Specialising in 60's, 70's and 80's rock covers, Far Canal pride themselves in providing an entertaining night of favourites spanning three decades. Songs which defined a whole generation and have stood the test of time.

W
ith three part harmonies and some stunning displays of guitar virtuosity from Wayne 'widdley widdley' Vizard you are guaranteed a great time. From the melodic 'Mr Tambourine Man' and the harmonic 'Eagles' to raunchy rockers from the Stones and Thin Lizzy there is something in the set for everyone
Wayne Vizard
Lead Guitar and vocals

Wayne has a very unique approach to guitar solo's. The general idea is to hit all the notes on the fret board in the hope that at least some of them will be in the right key !!

Jock Farrell
Bass Guitar and Vocals

With only four strings, the bass guitar is probably the easiest instrument to play but Jock really makes hard work of it !! A great singer and a brilliant player (he paid me to say that!)
Jock
Don Harris
Guitar and Lead Vocals
Don has taken over as the cute one in the band! He is also the Funky one.!  Rather than have a plethora of unnecessary dodgy guitar peddles with dodgy leads. Don concentrates on essentials, like Beer holders and fans. Watch his concentrating face during his solos too.! I suspect as the electrician in the band he knows how to wire a PA up, but he is keeping it quiet.!

Alan Parker    Alans Web Site
Drums

The best way to describe 'Parkers' drumming is 'Busy'. When you play in a band with Alan you suddenly realise that all the jokes about drummers are true !!
