The route I used on this Scafell Pike walk was again based on one in A Wainwright’s guide ‘Lakeland Fells Book 4, The Southern Fells’ and is covered by Ordnance Survey Explorer maps OL4 and OL6. I was based at Keswick, Seatoller and Ambleside during this trip.

On Thursday 30th August 2007 I set off to walk up to the top of Scafell Pike again from Borrowdale. I set off at 10am from Seatoller Farm campsite. It was misty high up (low cloud) so I was not sure if I would complete the walk but I was determined to at least find the start of the corridor route at Sty Head where I got lost in May. As it turned out the cloud base moved up higher during the day so I was able to continue.

The day after the walk I met up with Nick and Carolyn for dinner in a hotel with a very good restaurant in Ambleside. The hotel was called The Drunken Duck. On the way back home on Saturday I visited Andy and Tracey at an exhibition in Telford. They were attending as traders as was none other than Pete Waterman and I got his autograph.
