The Major Oak At Edwinstowe now the centre of Sherwood Forest today .This old Oak tree is reputed to be the hiding place of Robin Hood. I have been inside this old tree where Robin used to hide from the Sherriff’s men, but that was many years ago ,nowadays the tree is protected from visitors in order to save the tree which has been set on fire and has even been subject to acts of vandalism ! |
