Now, any musician knows,
equipment means everything. Equipment is a big part of this
religion. Your instrument shouldn't just be an item to you, it
should feel like a part of you. It should feel as natural to
play as 'Breakout' or for those who aren't good at Breakout,
breathing.
Now, onto the point of this page.
We all have our equipment preference, this page gives a list of
guitar brands (I'll need help with other instruments, I know
little on drums) and what their strong points are. This is just
to help you all dream of owning a great instrument and to aid
your research:
Guitars
| Fender |
All rounder, Most famous are
'Telecaster' and 'Stratocaster'. Very versatile guitars,
usually able to perform well for most styles of music.
Good for 'clean' sound |
| Gibson |
More rock/pop/blues/country
related usage. Gibson solid body guitars are usually
heavier and larger than most other makes. Gibson also
create hollow body guitars. Gibson's are usual for a
'dirty' sound but can create 'clean sounds' but not as
well as fender. Most famous for SG and Les Paul. |
| Rickenbacker |
Rhythm guitars. Very good for
tone. Specializes in 12 string and 6 string. You won't
find much better tone for rhythm than Rickenbacker.
Commonly used for Rock/Light Rock/Rhythm and blues.

| Ibanez |
All rounder. Ibanez creates
Gibson and Fender copies as well as their makes. Ibanez
makes are acclaimed versatile guitars, used commonly for
metal. Very useful for tremolo arm actions. |
| PRS |
A mid-way between Fender and
Gibson. PRS guitars are useful for both clean and dirty.
They are heavier than fenders but lighter than Gibson's. |
| BC Riche |
Specializes
in guitars for metal/heavy metal. Designs are made to be a
bit creative and a bit more evil looking. The guitars are
light and good for low tuning. |
| Daisy Rock |
Designed for girls. Designed
to be light weight with a small neck. Designs range from
Daisy shaped bodies to pink finishes. |
