Privacy - Any information that you provide regarding your family history, and any we subsequently discover from our research is regarded as strictly confidential. It will not be disclosed to anyone else unless we have your consent.

Payment for Services
All research must be paid for in advance, Payment can be made by credit card using PayPal or by cheque or money order in pounds sterling (GBP), made payable to A R C Research & Consultancy. Research will not start until payment is cleared.         Top

Time taken to complete the commissioned research.
No guarantee is made as to the time taken to complete your research. This will typically take several weeks but may take several months for larger projects, particular when we have to wait for record-holders to send documents through the post. There is often a choice we have to make between speed of response and the amount of information we can collect for you. As a matter of policy we opt for the approach that gives you the most information and therefore the best value for money. Relevance of Research Results.
By using our service you are enjoying the benefit of our many years research experience in the field of genealogy. Whilst all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the relevance of our research findings to your family history the nature of genealogical research is that this cannot be guaranteed. Wherever possible & practical full references (& / or copies) of original records quoted in our reports will be provided to enable you to make your own assessments. The nature of this type of research is that we cannot guarantee that clients will achieve their desired results from our research. The outcome of research cannot be predicted with complete assurance. We recommend that you use our Free Consultation Service before commissioning research to receive a realistic assessment of the likely outcome of any research.      Top

Use of Research Results.
We provide research services and support to individuals pursuing their own private personal study of their own family history. The content and format of our reports (whether in paper, book or CDROM/DVD format) to our clients are copyright and may be freely copied and distributed by clients to their relatives and friends. They may not be used in whole or in part for general distribution to the public, published on the internet or used for commercial purposes without the written permission of A R C Research & Consultancy.       Top

Documentary Evidence. We believe in the importance of supplying documentary evidence of our findings wherever possible and practical. Clients are required to pay the cost of obtaining and supplying copies of certificates, church records, census results etc in advance, generally by making a small payment in addition to the research fee at the start of the research period. No refunds of any sums paid and not used will be made. These will normally be used to fund more research time on your project. Copies of certificates, church records, census results etc are supplied for personal research purposes only. They may not be reproduced or distributed without the copyright holders permission.

We take all reasonable and practical measures to ensure the accuracy of any information we supply. However, in using our service Clients agree that A R C Research & Consultancy is not liable for any monetary loss or encumbrance resulting from inaccurate information supplied in research results reported to our clients or by this website.      Top
