Salamandra salamandra terrestris

This picture was taken after dark with a flash (hence the quality). This species is strictly nocturnal, so if you want a pet which is going to fetch sticks and roll over to have its tummy tickled, buy a hamster!

Female Salamandra salamandra terrestris.
