This is without doubt the shyest species I keep - you don't see much of them, hence the lack of decent photographs (with the exception of this one, which shows the exquisite turquoise flash colours on the underside and back legs well).
M. viridis definitely prefers larger prey items. On occasions I've been quite surprised by how large a waxmoth larva they can swallow! According to Richard Berridge, the secret of breeding (apart from a suitable environment) is to stuff them full of high quality and varied food after a cooler winter rest period.
