WELCOME TOSIGMA RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB HOME OFFICE APPROVED TARGET SHOOTING CLUB AFFILIATIONS THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION & UNITED KINGDOM PRACTICAL SHOOTING ASSOCIATION Site updated 5th May 2008 (Latest News+Bisley Rules)
May 3rd to 11th may 2008 If this is your first visit to our website, we hope the following information is of interest to you. We are normally always looking for new members and fortunately due to the increasing interest in shooting and the redesign of this website we regularly receive enquiries to join us. Due to the current long list of prospective members waiting to join us, regretfully we have put a temporary 'hold' on new enquires, particularly if they do not currently hold a firearms certificate. However do not let this prevent you from contacting us. Club Fees are £150 per annum, fees are collected by way of two £75 payments (in January and July) or by standing order. Fees are calculated by sharing the costs of running and maintaining the club amongst its members. For example, the costs will include the use of the club range and its facilities; There are no "green fees", additional weekly/monthly or per visit payments. However, to keep Club Fees as low as possible you will be expected to volunteer to help out with periodic range maintenance when required. Furthermore, Full Members are allowed to nominate an immediate member of their family for membership, at no additional cost. Following a sudden influx of younger Members, i.e. under the age of eighteen, we have formed a new Junior Full Membership category where Club Fees are reduced to £90 per annum, these fees are collected by way of two £45 payments (as above.) Whilst this is a sad reflection on modern times, if you are under 18 years of age, you will have to be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times while attending club functions or fixtures. Due to Home Offices rules, applicants applying for membership who do not already have a firearm certificate, will be required to complete a minimum 3 month Probationary Membership period. Full Membership will be based on the safe handling and use of firearms and regular attendance to the club. When Full Membership has been granted there is a one-off Joining Fee of £50. Club Range firing times are: 09.00 hrs to 16.30 hrs Monday to Saturday and 09.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs on Sundays. As the range is 'unmanned' and mostly used on a Saturday, new members will be required to attend the club on a Saturday until they have been granted Full Membership. This will allow Committee Members to ensure that adequate safety training has been provided and be able to 'monitor' the progress of prospective new members. For further information |
