(Question from James McQuade) Q A Friend of mine is a retired photographer and attended a match in the 1950s between Motherwell and Rangers at Fir Park. Motherwell were 3-0 up at the interval and Rangers scored three in the second half in a 3-3 draw. Do you have the date of this match?
A The only 3-3 draw between Motherwell and Rangers in the 1950s was a Scottish League Cup match in season 1952/53 (played on 27th August 1952).
(Question from Jeanne Sangster) Q When was the last time Partick thistle defeated Rangers?
A More recent than I thought! The last time the Jags won against Rangers was in a League match on 4th May 1993 when they won 3-0 at Firhill. Thistle needed the win to avoid relegation from the Premier Division.
(Question from Jakkibop) Q My Partner's Grandfather is believed to have been a Scottish International Player - although maybe capped only once). His name was Jimmy Menzies and he also played for Celtic. Wondered if you knew anything about him?
A There has been only one player named Menzies for Scotland and his christian name was Alexander William and not James. Also I can't find any player named Menzies with a Celtic connection. Can anyone else help?
