Yateley Red Cross Medical Equipment Loan www.yrx.org.uk
Having the right equipment makes a lot of difference in everything we do. It's especially true if someone is ill or disabled - even temporarily. Unfortunately, in these circumstances, the right equipment is often too expensive to buy, particularly if it's needed for only a short time. Such a loan can make the difference between staying in hospital or being able to go home on time; ease people back into their own homes after illness or surgery; enable them to go on holiday with friends or family; or care for themselves. Someone with a longer term disability may need help temporarily while waiting for assessment and permanent supply.
Our Medical Equipment Loan Service can provide a variety of equipment, the main types being: wheelchairs; backrests; bath seats; commodes, bedpans, and urinals; walking sticks and frames.
Yateley Red Cross Medical Equipment Loan operates from the Yateley Medical Centre, Oaklands, by St Peter's Church. This is open every weekday from Monday to Thursday from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon, when Medical Equipment Loan volunteers on duty may be contacted via the Medical Centre switchboard [01252 872333, ask for Red Cross Medical Equipment Loan]. Outside these hours, messages may be left on the Yateley Red Cross Centre answering machine, 01252 890020, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Prospective volunteer helpers are always welcome. With more volunteers we could possibly extend our opening hours. We were open on Fridays until recently: it would be good for the community if this could happen again. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer. Training will be given.
Please contact Yateley Red Cross for further information.
