Pyramid Guild youth group will not meet during the Autumn Term 2010.

Pyramid Guild is a club for boys and girls aged from five upwards.  It meets on Thursday evenings between 6:30pm and 7:30pm in the Yateley Red Cross Centre in Monteagle Lane.  It aims to provide a variety of activities, including learning about first aid and health and safety.  It has the flexibility to follow the interests and ideas of members of the group.   Most of the activities are suggested by the young people in the group, these include such things as quizzes, intellectual challenges, visits to the fire station and police station, indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, music evenings, plays and many more.  We also run many courses such as basic child care, community awareness, first aid, personal health and hygiene and safety awareness.

The programme for the current term, and those for previous terms, are on this website, as are those for the older young members when they met separately. Pyramid Guild members aged 15 and above may, if they wish, become peer educators in the British Red Cross.  Further information is on the Peer Educators Page of the Yateley Red Cross Website.

We meet during Hampshire school term times.  Subscriptions are currently £15 per term [free for Red Cross Peer Educators].  The group is run by adults who are trained in First Aid and Child Protection Awareness.  They are all members of the Yateley Red Cross First Aid Group.

As a group, we aim to promote the education and social development of young people through their leisure-time activities so as to develop their first aid and other skills and to help them to achieve their potentials as individuals, members of a group and of society at large, so that they may become responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.

Pyramid Guild took  the place of the Yateley Red Cross Youth and Junior Groups. The Yateley Junior Red Cross Group became Pyramid Guild on 1 January 2002.  It was joined by the Youth Group on 1 April 2002.  We are affiliated to a body which supervises a large number of youth clubs to ensure that we adhere to good practice, can extend our range of activities, and keep up to date with relevant legislation.  That body, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Options, is in turn part of the National Association of Clubs for Young People.   Information about the origin of the group's name can be found on another page.

In March 2006 we presented four wheelchairs to Yateley Red Cross Medical Loan.  This was reported in the Yateley News and Mail on 21 March 2006.  Since then, we have raised more money and given Medical Loan a child-sized wheelchair.
