Try S-Plan Viewer for free or buy S-Plan Designer for only £15.00

What is S-Plan Viewer?
S-Plan Viewer allows you to view, print and find the track used in any slot track circuit designed using S-Plan. But that's not all - you can also superimpose the dimensions of your room and any immovable contents onto the circuit you have chosen to build so that you can see if it will fit in the available space. And if that's not enough you can also compare your own track inventory with that required to build a circuit to see which pieces you need. See S-Plan Viewer screen shot

To give you a taster, a number of example circuit plans have been included with the Viewer download files. You can receive a copy of S-Plan Viewer and the example circuits for FREE by simply hitting the download button below.

Once you have loaded S-Plan Viewer why not go to the Track Library and download all 17 of the 2000 season Grand Prix circuits?

But how do I design my own circuits?
For only £15.00 you can upgrade S-Plan Viewer to S-Plan Designer and explore the limit-less possibilities of track design! There are hundreds of satisfied customers who would agree that it is money well spent (check out the guest book for some of their comments).

Once you have installed S-Plan Viewer hit the upgrade button on the Viewer title page and follow the simple instructions within the program to make the upgrade to S-Plan Designer.

There are two ways that you can pay for your upgrade. See payment options for further details.

What exactly can S-Plan do that S-Plan Viewer can't?
  • Enter and edit slot track pieces quickly and easily (currently supports Scalextric, SCX, Ninco and Carrera track pieces)
  • Editing is as easy as using a word processor, with features such as cut and paste, copy and overwrite
  • Move and rotate track sections.
  • Design multiple lane circuits - as many lanes as the chosen slot track system geometry will accomodate.
  • Most track pieces have been included in the track library for the track systems supported.

Help - how do I download a copy of S-Plan Viewer?
1. Click on the download button above to load a compressed file containing all the files you need to install S-Plan Viewer on to your PC. Take a note (or specify) where the compressed file is to be loaded on your PC so that you can find it.

2. The compressed file is self extracting so all you have to do next is run it to uncompress the installation files. Once the files have been uncompressed the installation process will start automatically - simply follow the on screen instructions.

3. A number of example circuits have been included with the S-Plan Viewer installation files but if you've got a big appetite then go to the Library page to down load a whole lot more!

4. If you have done all of the above but still have a problem either installing or running S-Plan Viewer the please check out the Problems and Solutions section below.

  Screen shot of S-Plan Viewer

S-Plan Viewer is displaying Brands Hatch with a room outline superimposed to determine how the circuit will best fit into the space provided.

The 2 smaller boxes could represent a desk and a sofa for example, these can be moved independently of the larger outline.

Problems and Solutions
Problem 1
S-Plan Viewer has installed OK but when I run it an error message appears stating that the button map file cannot be read and that there is a data base error.

Solution 1
Look for a file in your Windows system directory called VBDB300.DLL and check its creation date - if it is more recent than 28/4/93 then follow the instructions below:

a) Move your version of VBDB300.DLL to a different directory (for safe keeping).
b) Download an older version of VBDB300.DLL by clicking on the link below. Run VBDB.EXE which will uncompress and load VBDB300.DLL into your Windows system directory. Note if your Windows system directory is not C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM then you will need to change the destination directory specified when uncompressing VBDB.EXE
Download VBDB.EXE
c) Now try running S-Plan Viewer again - the problem should be solved!

Problem 2
The S-Plan Viewer setup program will not install S-Plan on my system.

Solution 2
Install S-Plan Viewer manually by following the instructions below:

a) Download the S-Plan system files (SPLANSYS.EXE) by clicking on the link below. Run SPLANSYS.EXE which will uncompress and load the system files into your Windows system directory. Note if your Windows system directory is not C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM then you will need to change the destination directory specified when uncompressing SPLANSYS.EXE
Download SPLANSYS.EXE
b) Download the S-Plan run files (SPLAN301UPG.EXE) by clicking on the link below. Run SPLAN301UPG.EXE which will uncompress and load the run files into a directory called C:\SPLAN.
Download SPLAN301UPG.EXE
c) Download the S-Plan example files (STRACKS.EXE) by clicking on the link below. Run STRACKS.EXE which will uncompress and load the example files into a sub directory called C:\SPLAN\CIRCUITS.
Download STRACKS.EXE
d) Test S-Plan Viewer by running SPLAN.EXE (which can be found in the C:\SPLAN directory).

If neither of the above describe your problem or you have tried the above and you problem has not been fixed please email me with details - a brief description of the problem, any error messages given and the version of Windows you are using.
