In order to compete with Airwolf, Blue Thunder was aired on ABC. Launched in January 1984 the series only lasted for 11 episodes and was probably cancelled due to poor ratings.
Blue Thunder came to the UK thanks to BBC1 and
this was shown sometime in the mid to late 80's. I do remember that I watched
the show but as to what happened in each episode, those memories faded a long
time ago !
In the early 90's, UK Satellite channel Sky One showed Blue Thunder but stuck it
in a pretty dead time slot. It was shown very late Sunday evening / early
Monday morning and I was lucky enough to spot it and managed to tape most of the
episodes.
After 10 years from its last showing in the UK, UK Satellite channel Bravo will be showing Blue Thunder in May 2002.
