Biography
amb26 is the brainchild of Antony Barnes, who works a full time
job whilst making music in his spare time. As a fan of 70s/80s Analogue Synth Artists
such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, he tries to incorporate the
sound of those artists while making his style more contemporary. His own sound has
evolved from years of tinkering on Yamaha/Casio Portables, and the Commodore Amiga.

In the late 1990s, the Playstation had "Music" and "Music 2000", creation tools
which he bought, for people to make music from. A few years, a few memory cards
full of music, and two wrecked playstations later, he gave it up. A year or so on,
he took the better stuff from that time and made a CD, called "Sonic Experiment".
This was sat on a shelf, gathering dust for a few more years, until Antony heard
about Podcasting and the Podsafe Music Network.
A place for artists to upload music, and give podcasters a free licence to play
their music, without paying the extortionate fees associated with mainstream artists.

Antony uploaded "The Grand Prize", and after a couple of plays, kept adding more
and more songs. This gave him the confidence to start again, after nearly 5 years
of nothing. The stuff released now is forming an album, called "Ministry Of Clodagh"
named in honour of his wife.

The Sonic Experiment material is available to download in low quality format for
you to preview here. Any opinions are welcome.
