Tri-Service Church Bell Ringers Meeting
© AGB 2008
On Saturday 14 July 2007, 13 members from all three services Bell Ringing Guilds met in London. The weather forecast had changed over the week as often as we changed in call changes. Luckily, it was dry on Saturday and we started at Pimlico, St Saviour. Next stop was Westminster, St Margaret after a bit of a walk which included a coffee break. One of the ringers found a friend running a beer tent for Westminster Abbey choir fund raising day and a few of us went and replaced lost liquid. After lunch (part liquid) we had a trek to Holborn, St Giles in the Field. Ringing did not improve with the first tower after lunch, but we did not do too badly. Next stop was Aldwych, St Clements Danes which is the RAF Central Church. The Chairman of the RAF Guild put us through our paces on the 10 bells. Last stop of the day was Waterloo, St John the Evangelist. We had a good day out, with most of us glad to finish the walking and get home.
