Happy New Year

May the Chairman and I wish you all a Happy New year and we hope that this year is better than the last year for you all.

Golden Wedding

On behalf of the Guild I would like to belatedly congratulate Dennis and Barbara Martin on celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary last year (Did anyone spot the quarter peal in the RW?). I believe 50 years is the equivalent to two life sentences, did anyone receive a remission or time off for good behaviour?

AGM 2005

We had a good year last year with some very busy meetings. The AGM went off without a hitch thanks to our Ringing Master Mike Suttill and his superb organisation. The whole day was very good with some excellent ringing including surprise methods. For the closet surprise ringers please don’t keep your light hidden under a bushel, you know who you are and we would love to see you. For those of you who are not into surprise ringing please do not be put of from coming we still “cater” for all ranges and I quote “ The rounds in the pub are always good” (RD).

AGM 2006

The AGM this year will be in and around the Amport area. It is particularly significant as we are hoping our President will come and join us during the day. Could I ask for all of you to make a special effort that day and come along and show your support for the Guild even if you do not feel like ringing?

New Members

The following new members have joined the Guild, Edmund Black, Maggie Vince and Mike Cornwall. If you see them at a meeting please introduce yourselves and make them welcome.

Training Weekend

The RAF Guild Training Weekend is being held during the first weekend of July at Amport House. Most of you are probably aware that the cost of accommodation and messing went up significantly last year. It appears that there is no change to the budget for this year although it is still very competitive when compared with other facilities in the area. You do not have to stay at Amport House to attend the course. You can still get a lot from the training and practices and it is also a very good time to socialise with like-minded people.

Waterloo Day

For those of you who like to ring quarter peals don’t forget Waterloo Day on the 17 June. We have yet to achieve the Guilds first peal. Volunteers should give their name to Mike Suttill.

AGB Clothing

If you would like to wear clothing with the AGB logo on you can purchase them through Geoff Sharpe at very reasonable prices by accessing the “Link” on our web page.

Change of Address

The secretary/treasurer has not moved! We would like to wish Jon Lonsbrough all the best for his move to Newhaven.
