The Erotic Seduction Of The Sea
by Ron Stewart (Indiana, U.S.A.) written 25th June 2000 -
She waves.
Her seduction is strong.
With a laugh, she fills my canvas.
Taut. Tight. It strains for a kind whisper...
But without a word she leaves
Leaving it...
Limp.
Fluttering.
Impotent.
I wait on her.
Waiting for her return.
And perhaps I wait in vain.
Vainly thinking she is mine.
But the sea belongs to no one.
She is mistress to all who would woo her.
Giving passage on her terms.
Dictating the course
Promising nothing.
Demanding all.
Until finally...
She claims her lovers.
Embracing them...never letting go.
Luring them to her depths.
Cradling them in her bosom.
And when they are hers...
She waves.
I stand on shore.
Seduced by the waves.
Longing to return.
Though I have yet to leave.
