The Spirit of Art Mythic artist Lisa Nicholson and myself seek to step beyond our
experiences for Streets Alive (City of York City of Festivals) and the
Archaeological Trusts Jorvik experience (Why? Who knows) into sharing art and
thought and writing into a performance of your topics. Museums, festivals
schools, safe centres, community touring, theatre - lead us to you and we
will make everything you have experienced as a seeking body so much more real
and lasting. (See also collaborations with
Viking projects.) Roaming around with Romany’s So Bill has a world of crafts and lore and I have the ability to write
for children from dynamic experience and you want to explore cultural
diversity. Inter-structural cultures, folk work, dialects, languages, values,
hygiene, knowledge, carousel, fair, circus, hedgehogs, pegs, curses,
alienation, richness of awareness, alternative view, horses, scrap, miniature
crisp packets, recycling, and the free world of the invisible skilled
traveller who has passed this way before while looking right at you now.
Respect an older member of a whole way of life and learn to recreate, act
out, and write. See also

Poetry Drama Numbers See Creative Context and the forthcoming exciting theme of
numbers. If you are from or know of another Creative Context project other than
the East riding of Yorkshire do please let me know. Wherever your project is
in the world if you put a series of visits together I will create around your
theme. Seaside II Yet another seaside project. I just end up getting more and more
material. This project (Still available to Hornsea Schools at half price) was
another Creative Context commission and included a full package of
activities. Creation A whole school project of performance and writing with follow on
activities and a show for the grown ups commissioned for Creative Context
2004. Word and Rhythm of the Seasons This was a delightful project for nursery kids (It is available for
you too). Myself and Mo Burrows of Tantara Arts (My agent) put this together
for Beverley Manor Nursery. We did a performance for each group of a season
poem with atmospheric percussion then split them into groups; Mo’s lot worked
on the sounds and rhythms and mine rehearsed the poem (a different season for
each group) and wrote a poem for performance too.
We then put it all on as a show for the other groups. All that in four one
hour sessions!
Here are their poems and one of mine Whatever The Weather Burlington Infants School, Bridlington asked me back for another
commission. It was the seaside last time, this; the weather. A whole series
of poems from the Beaufort Scale to signing up as member of the WARM Front.
The moon got in a sulk, the children got dizzy spinning round the world and
HAND demonstrated a hurricane. Get to know your rain cycle with exciting
performance from Adrian Spendlow!
There are a few of the poems
here for you A school has just rung and asked if I can do a day on George and the
Dragon: They want me for next week. I’m going there. Imagine. Your dreams and
needs and the child centred creative flow. or You just focus on SATS and the job of funding a school, who could
blame you really. Target those kids in the direction that feels right. |
