The Roy Valenti Band was eponymously created in the early 1990s. Roy was a passionate trumpet player who had always wanted to play in a big band. What better way to achieve this ambition than by creating your band … and that’s exactly what Roy did!

 

The band began rehearsing at St Barnabus Church Hall in Southfields, London, almost 20 years ago. The original band members were recruited from the South London Concert Band, the Merton Concert Band, the Kingswood Silver Band and many other places. The band eventually moved slightly further south, where it now meets for weekly rehearsals at Kingswood Village Club in Surrey. Sadly Roy passed away in 2006, but the band plays on…
