What they tell you about UKIP
1. UKIP is a racist organisation, second only to BNP.
No. In fact, all members sign an undertaking NOT to be racist, and so do all candidates for political position. "The Party will be guided in its activities by the principle of non-discrimination, including non-racism and non-sectarianism, and will be guided by the principle that all people are equal before the law."2. UKIP is a single issue Party.
"The Party will develop a full range of domestic and foreign policies." The fact is that since Britain no longer governs itself, getting out of the EU is not a single issue, it is the only issue. Only when we as a nation are out of its grasp will anyone be able to introduce policies for Britain.3. UKIP is a 'minor league' Party.
The party was formed in 1992, with only a handful of members. In the 1994 Euro-election, UKIP failed to gain seats, but received 157,000 votes. In the 1999 Euro-elections UKIP had 3 MEP's returned. In the 2004 elections, 2.6million voted UKIP, pushing the Liberals into fourth position and giving the Party 12 MEP's.4. UKIP is anti-immigration.
A huge fuss was made when Roger Knapman employed 'immigrant labour' after the Party's stance on immigration was published. These were specialist plasterers who came over, did a job they were hired to do, and went back home to Poland. There were no British plasterers who could do the job for the price.
