The
Good Success Society
Joshua 1:8(KJV)
"This book of the law
shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Psalm 1:1-3(KJV)
"Blessed is the man that
walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful."
"But his delight is in the
law of the LORD; and in his law doth he
meditate day and night."
"And he shall be like a
tree planted by the rivers of water, that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
'The Good Success Society' is a universal society of
people who meant
to have 'good success'.
What is 'good success'?
A comparison with 'success' will make its definition clear.
'Success' is being, doing, or having what one wants to be,
do, or have.
'Good success' is being, doing,
and having what God wants one to be,
do, or
have.
Therefore,'success' becomes 'good success' when one wants what God
wants for oneself;or simply put, when God's will becomes one's will.
This is only possible when one enters a covenant relationship with God
by receiving Jesus Christ as one's personal Lord and Saviour(John 1:12).
One becomes a new member of 'the Good Success Society'.
It is not enough to be a member of 'the Good Success Society' to really
have 'good success'.
Based upon this divine relationship, there are three things stated in
the first scripture above(Joshua 1:8) that are relevant for one to
carry out before one can really enjoy 'good success':-
Communication:God
speaks to everyone of his children who are
members of 'the Good Success Society' through his word(the bible) by
his Spirit.
2 Tim.3:16-17(KJV)
"All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:"
"That the man of God may
be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works."
God's children delight in hearing and reading his
word regularly
because they love him just like lovers delight in hearing and reading
each other's words!
Meditation:This
is the spiritual discipline that one must
exercise upon whatever portion of God's word communicated to one, just
like when a cow chews the cuds.
Psalm 119:97(KJV)
"O how love I thy law! it
is my meditation all the day."
Through meditation,one
receives positive thoughts of 'good success'
from God though his word by his Spirit:
1 Cor.2:9-10(KJV)
"But as it is written, Eye
hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love him."
"But God hath revealed
them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit
searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."
Observation:This
is the process by which one notices what God is
specifically speaking to one through what one has meditated upon;and
then one acts in faith and obedience motivated by one's love for God
and for others as well as oneself.
Positive thoughts from God received through one's meditation are always
meant to be translated by the indwelling Spirit into positive words and
works for God through one's observation!
Rom.10:17(KJV)
"So then faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
James 1:22(KJV)
"But be ye doers of the
word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own
selves."
James 1:25(KJV)
"But whoso looketh into
the perfect law of liberty, and continueth
therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this
man shall be blessed in his deed."
Matt. 22:37 -39(KJV)
"Jesus said unto him, Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
"This is the first and
great commandment. "
"And the second is like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself."
'Good success' is therefore guaranteed by God himself as one hears
God's word, meditates upon it, and finally acts upon it with the help of the
Holy Spirit.
A complete and beautiful picture of 'good success' is the state of
'blessedness' (Psalm 1:1) seen in the third
verse of the second set of scriptures above(Psalm 1:1-3).
This pleasant imagery is a vivid representation of the
fulfillment of one's destiny.
A fruitful tree is the fulfillment of the sown fruit seed from which it
grew.
The fulfillment of destiny can be likened to the possession of the
promised land of Canaan by the children of Israel led by Joshua.
From the time of Joshua received the word of God in Joshua chapter1 to
the possession of Canaan by Israel, there were battles that had to be
fought and won!
From the time the fruit seed is sown to the time that the fruit tree
bears fruit, the plant has to face and overcome various challenges such
as the elements and pests.
From the time one receives the word of God as a seed into one's
heart, one has to encounter victoriously different inner and/or outer
challenges, before one can really enjoy 'good success'!
In this regard, members of 'the Good Success Society' help one another
in love so that their individual and collective destinies can be
fulfilled:
Judges 1:3(KJV)
"And Judah said unto
Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot,
that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with
thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him."
While one may have 'good success' and not be recognised in the Guinness
Book of Records, one's good report is precious and pleasant in the sight
of God(Heb.11:2,6,38)!
One's good report gives information on how one has been fulfilling
one's individual and corporate destiny as a member of 'the Good
Success Society'!
God is glorified through the good report of every member of 'the Good
Success Society' as its 'Grand Patron' just like parents are proud
about their successful children!
Finally, every human being on earth today is invited by and through
Jesus Christ to become a member of 'the Good Success Society' of which
he is the Head!
