JOY RIDE
‘Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall
fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off
from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:’
‘Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy
in the God of my salvation.’
‘The LORD God is my strength, and he will
make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine
high places. To the chief singer on my stringed
instruments.’
Habakkuk 3:17-19(King James
Version)
In the
journey of divine destiny, there are always times when the way seems
so hard and bumpy. At such times, there is a natural tendency of
one's soul to be cast down!
With a downcast soul a
person becomes discouraged, confused and bitter. In such a
state, the person is prone to be hindered in the journey,by
retreating,diverting or stalling!
Reverting to different
human methods whether intellectual or mystical only puts the soul
into a deep and false state of hope in which no real progress can be
made!
There is no human remedy for this malady of the soul!
This is because in this state the soul is an easy target for the
devil to manipulate against divine destiny. The devil has been and
will always be the enemy of divine destiny!
The only real
remedy is the divine prescription given below:-
‘Rejoice
evermore.’
1 Thessalonians 5:16(King James
Version)
Rejoicing is a spiritual exercise engaged
in by the soul of a person who has received Christ Jesus as personal
Lord and Saviour (John 1:12). It is a matter of personal choice and
discipline based on a walk with God by faith.
This faith is not
the human faith which operates on 'facts and figures' of one's
circumstances but it is the supernatural faith in every
believer and operates only on the word of God.
By engaging this faith, the soul chooses to believe what the word of
God says that one is in Christ:-
‘For we are the circumcision, which worship
God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no
confidence in the flesh.’
Philippians 3:3(King James
Version)
The soul also chooses to believe what the
word of God says that one has and can do in
Christ:-
‘Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say,
Rejoice.’
Philippians 4:4(King James
Version)
This prescription is to be
dispensed whether one is persecuted for Christ's sake or when
one faces any other kind of challenge:-
‘Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you,
and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you
falsely, for my sake.’
‘Rejoice, and be exceeding
glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.’
Matthew 5:11-12(King James
Version)
‘My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall
into divers temptations;’
James 1:2(King James
Version)
By rejoicing,the soul
becomes the conduit for the supernatural life of God within the
believer to flow out and become manifested in the natural and seen
realm!
As a result,the
pilgrim makes sure and steady progress demonstrating the many sided wisdom of God
in the journey of divine destiny!
‘Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out
of the wells of salvation.’
Isa.12:3 (King James
Version)
