DREAMTALK
6
Job 33:14-18(KJV)
"For God speaketh once,
yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not."
"In a dream, in a vision
of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon
men, in slumberings upon the bed; "
"Then he openeth the ears
of men, and sealeth their instruction,"
"That he may withdraw man
from his purpose, and hide pride from man."
"He keepeth back his soul
from the pit, and his life from perishing by
the sword."
The dreamer slept and had another dream in which he found himself in a
crowd watching a sunday school drama based on the following parable of
the Lord Jesus Christ:
Luke 10:30-35(KJV)
"And Jesus answering said,
A certain man went down from Jerusalem to
Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and
wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. "
"And by chance there came
down a certain priest that way: and when he
saw him, he passed by on the other side."
"And likewise a Levite,
when he was at the place, came and looked on
him, and passed by on the other side."
"But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed, came where he was: and when
he saw him, he had compassion on him,"
"And went to him, and
bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and
set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of
him."
"And on the morrow when he
departed, he took out two pence, and gave
them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever
thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee."
As soon as the drama was concluded,a preacher mounted the stage to give
a thought provoking message:-
'I like to thank the Lord for all those who made this play so
wonderfully presented! Not just the actors and actresses! Also the
costume makers, those backstage, the sunday school teachers, and of course
the parents.'
'I am sure that we are able to identify ourselves with all the
characters, even the bad ones with shame,of course!'
'For those of us who have already started the journey of destiny
through Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour,we frequently come across our
fellow pilgrims who have fallen victim to thieves!'
John 10:10a(KJV)
"The thief cometh not, but
for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy:..."
'The thief who is the devil and his human and inhuman agents have
robbed these precious people of their
joy,peace,victory,health,testimony,faith,hope,vision,strength,and all
other things that are vital for their journey!'
'Imagine yourself as a reporter with 'The Jericho Times' interviewing
those that passed the victim on the other side. What do you think could
be their possible excuses?'
'I was
almost late for my appointment with God at church in Jericho.'
'I did
not want to become unclean for God's service!'
'I was
afraid that the robbers were still nearby and they could also
attack me.'
'I did
not carry a first aid kit.'
'There
was no public telephone at that spot therefore I could not call
for the emergency services!'
'As 'The Jericho Times' reporter, imagine a small crowd of onlookers on
the other side, what kind of comments would you overhear?'
'This
serves him right,he must be one of our enemies!'
(But I say that the word of God says:)
Proverbs 24:17-18(KJV)
"Rejoice not when thine
enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad
when he stumbleth:"
"Lest the LORD see it, and
it displease him, and he turn away his wrath
from him."
'He
must have been a real sinner!'
(But I say that the word of God says:)
Matthew 7:7(KJV)
"Judge not, that ye be not
judged."
'It is obvious from this play that our merciful God expects us not to
ignore or criticise such people, but to have compassion on them and show
them God's mercy!'
Luke 10:37(KJV)
"And he said, He that
shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him,
Go, and do thou likewise."
2 Cor.1 :3-4(KJV)
"Blessed be God, even the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
of mercies, and the God of all comfort; "
"Who comforteth us in all
our tribulation, that we may be able to
comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we
ourselves are comforted of God."
'If we have to rebuke such a person,we need to do so with the spirit of
meekness!'
Gal.6:1(KJV)
"Brethren, if a man be
overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual,
restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself,
lest thou also be tempted."
'Maybe we have such wounded and half dead persons in our midst! I
want such persons to listen to the following gracious words from God's
word:
Job 22:29(KJV)
"When men are cast down,
then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and
he shall save the humble person."
Proverbs 24:16a(KJV)
"For a just man falleth
seven times, and riseth up again:..."
Micah 7:8(KJV)
"Rejoice not against me, O
mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when
I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me."
'Based on the authority of God's word,I boldly announce to you that
there is lifting up!!! There is no need to stay down any more through
condemnation or justification of self and/or others(Job 32:2b,3)!'
'Therefore,as we bow our heads to pray,I'll like to invite forward
firstly all who have not started this journey of destiny. You need to
come to Christ so as to be saved. It is only the saved that can travel
on this wonderful and perilous adventure. Please step forward and stand
by the centre of the stage.'
'Secondly,I will beckon forward those believers who have been robbed by
the devil in any way. There is restoration for you today! Kindly stand
by the right side of the stage.'
Thirdly,I offer the opportunity to those who have ignore or
criticise such people and who see the need to change from such pride
and indifference. Quickly make your way to the left side of this stage!
As the dreamer stood to his feet under the conviction of the Holy
Spirit to join the third group of invitees,he suddenly wakened!
