DREAMTALK 2
Job 33:14-18(KJV)
"For God speaketh once,
yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not."
"In a dream, in a vision
of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon
men, in slumberings upon the bed; "
"Then he openeth the ears
of men, and sealeth their instruction,"
"That he may withdraw man
from his purpose, and hide pride from man."
"He keepeth back his soul
from the pit, and his life from perishing by
the sword."
1 Kings 4:29-34(KJV)
"And God gave Solomon
wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and
largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore."
"And Solomon's wisdom
excelled the wisdom of all the children of the
east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt."
"For he was wiser than all
men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and
Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations
round about."
"And he spake three
thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand
and five. "
"And he spake of trees,
from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even
unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of
beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. "
"And there came of all
people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all
kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom."
And the dreamer slept again and found himself in a small private
classroom witnessing a teacher and his three pupils deeply engaged in a
lesson based on the luminous bold writing of 1 Kings chapter 4 verses
29-34 upon the blackboard.
Teacher:'What do you think of these scriptures from the bible?'
Pupil #1:'Solomon seems to be an icon that dwarfs any or all of us and
makes us look like fools!'
Pupil #2:'His wisdom apparently made him the most famous king in his
time!'
Pupil #3:'And the richest!'
Teacher:'Let us not be carried away by the obvious glamour of this
bible celebrity! When we see these verses from a societal perspective
we will completely miss the lesson for today. To help us,I will ask a
few questions. The first question is"Is there any Christian here?" '
All three pupils cheerfully raised their right hands.
Teacher:'That's really great! But the next question is "Who is a
Christian"?'
Pupil #2:'A person who is born again'
Pupil #3:'A follower of Jesus Christ'
Pupil #1:'Someone who has repented of his or her sins and accepted
Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour'
Teacher:'You have all given very good answers. The next question is
"Using the scriptures how can we compare Jesus Christ with Solomon?"'
Pupil #3:'Jesus is not just a king he is the King of kings':
Rev.19:16(KJV)
"And he hath on his
vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF
KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
Pupil #1:'Christ is the wisdom of God':
1 Cor.1:24(KJV)
"But unto them which are
called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power
of God, and the wisdom of God."
Pupil #2:'He is even far greater than Solomon':
Luke 11:31(KJV)
"The queen of the south
shall rise up in the judgment with the men of
this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts
of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than
Solomon is here."
Teacher:'From all your answers we get a brief glimpse of the greatness
of the One who should remain seated upon the throne of your hearts!
With your focus on Christ your King, how can you as a Christian relate
to Solomon with respect to his wisdom?'
Pupil #2:'In Christ Jesus we are kings (Rev.1:5-6 and Rev.5:9-10) just
like Solomon.'
Pupil #1:'Therefore we need wisdom just like he needed wisdom(1 Kings
3:9).'
Pupil #3:'And God is our Source of wisdom(1 Kings 3:12 and James 1:17).'
Teacher: 'Divine wisdom is essential for
fulfilment of divine destiny! Everyone born into this world has a
divine destiny to fulfill. But it is only in Christ Jesus that it can
be fulfilled! In Christ Jesus, everyone is
a king in the kingdom of God. Such kings are commanded by Christ the
King to seek first the Kingdom of God, and his
righteousness(Matt.6:33). Therefore part of their royal duties involves
preaching the kingdom of God (Acts 28:31)
just like their King (Mark 1:14).'
Teacher: 'After the ten commandments were
given to the children of Israel at mount Sinai, what
was the joint divine assignment that the Lord God gave them?'
Pupil #3:'The building of the tabernacle of God in the wilderness (Exodus 25:8).'
Teacher: 'How were God's people involved in
this special project?'
Pupil #2:'As 'givers' (Exodus 35:5) and
'makers' (Exodus 35:10).'
Teacher: 'What was the divine gift that was
possessed by all the 'makers'?'
Pupil #1:'Wisdom(Exodus 36:1-2).'
Teacher: 'All the three of you represent
God's people, 'the kings' on the earth today
involved in the building of the Church of Jesus Christ as God's
habitation through the Spirit (Ephesians
2:22).And to play your different and yet complimentary roles in this
end-time project you all need divine wisdom(Prov.24:3-4)!'
Pupil #1:'I perceive that you are not just a teacher!'
Pupil #2:'Are you the Teacher?!'
Pupil #3:'Are you the King?!'
As they steadfastly gazed on the teacher's face, they
first noticed a twinkle in his eyes, then a
grin on his face, and then suddenly he was
transfigured(Matt.17:2),the light of his countenance filled the
classroom like the brightness of the tropical sun. Just at that moment, the dreamer woke up!!!
