AGENTS OF DESTINY

“Ye are the salt of the earth...”

“Ye are the light of the world...”

Matt. 5:13-14(KJV)

 The Lord our God in His unconditional love is not just concerned with us in Christ discovering, pursuing, and fulfilling our divine destinies; He is also concerned with others who yet to be in Christ!

Divine destiny is basically all that God has planned in His love and wisdom for us to be, to do, and to have, individually and collectively.

It can only be truly discovered, pursued, and fulfilled in Christ Jesus!

It is hidden therefore to anyone who is still not in Christ!

 This is because we have all been born naturally into a state of sin.

 This is a spiritual state in which we are separated from God (Rom.3:23).

 This is a separation that we cannot bridge with our own religions or philosophies, using our feeble will power and intellect!

 This is a very wide and deep gap that only God who is holy and loving bridged using His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16)!

 Each of us has the responsibility to respond to this supreme gift of God’s love and grace demonstrated in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom.6:23).

 This golden opportunity always comes as we hear the gospel or ‘good news’ of Christ through one or more ‘agents of destiny’ (Rom.10:14) who are ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor.5:20).

 The only correct response for us from God’s perspective is to obey the gospel of Christ which demands that we turn away from our sins; and believe on Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour (Rom.10:9-10)!

This willing obedience is a sincere and humble act of faith in the Lord as our only salvation!

 POSITION OF INFLUENCE:-Being in the kingdom of God through the Lord Jesus Christ is a vantage point as ‘agents of destiny’ to influence others to discover, pursue, and fulfil divine destiny.

 POTIENTIAL FOR INFLUENCE:-Being in Christ, and Christ being in us as ‘agents of destiny’ places and releases power to influence others. This power is manifested as light that is bright enough to be seen by all; and as salt that is strong enough to be tasted by all (2 Cor.2:14-17). This power is channelled through us at any opportune time and place using any available tool with the help of the indwelling Spirit (Acts 8:5-8, 26-39).

 POPULACE TO INFLUENCE:-These are people who need to be influenced by us as ‘agents of destiny’ being the salt of God’s grace; and the light of God’s light. They are precious to God just like we are. When they are won to Christ through us; and they too become ‘agents of destiny’!

 “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”

Philippians 2:15(KJV)

The difference between salted food and salt less food is as clear to the natural senses as the difference between a lighted room and a dark room!

 This difference may not easily appreciated until a honest observer tries to taste salt less food after sampling salted food; or when the person moves from a lighted room into a dark room!

What the Christian is in Christ (Matt.5:13-14) flavours and brightens the earth/world as he/she lives for Christ daily!

 It is because saltiness is greater than the worst blandness of the earth and light than the greatest darkness in the world (John 1:5)!!!

In current terms, ‘agents of destiny’ can be rightly called ‘shining salts’ or ‘salty lights’!

The winning influence of the ‘agents of destiny’ is not just in their words but also in their lives both in public and in private!

 This influence is demonstrated as the ‘agents of destiny’ function as salts that season the earth and as lights that brighten the world!

This demonstration is possible by the power of the indwelling Spirit of God (Acts 1:8) in the hearts of the ‘agents of destiny’.

 They live out their lives for Christ knowing that they have not been given the spirit of fear but of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7; Luke 12:4).   

They exhibit boldness in the Spirit (Acts 4:13, 29, 31; 13:46) without fleshly pride; and a wisdom that is irresistible (Acts 6:10)!

They have the permanent backup of the Lord’s presence everywhere and every time (Matt.28:20; Mark 16:20)!

When ‘agents of destiny’ work together, they form local, national, and global networks that promote the harvest of the Lord!

Let us jointly and singly arise and function as ‘agents of destiny’ while we live in these end time days of the Lord’s harvest to the delight of His holy and loving heart towards mankind!
