ABC 4 CRISES
Mark 4:35-41
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side."
Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
Crises are definitely part of life for anyone from the individual level right up to the global level!
Every day the media heralds this fact.
In different human endeavors, crises management has become a valuable tool in weathering such storms of life.
This is especially true for one’s journey of divine destiny!
This journey is not just one’s life journey; it is the journey in which one is using one’s gift of life to fulfil the divine purpose of that precious and beautiful gift!
That gift comes from one’s Creator who has a wonderful purpose for giving it!
Acts 17:24, 25, 28
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.
'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'
This gift carries a great potential to fulfil that purpose!
To unlock such potential one needs to humbly enter into a personal covenant relationship with one's Creator through the Lord Jesus Christ!
John 1:12-13
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-
children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
This potential is the key to handling any kind of crises that one may encounter through one’s journey of divine destiny.
This important key is used by the ‘ABC’ process:-
Acknowledge the potential-let the Holy Spirit inform your mind through the word of God that there is always an unseen but real divine solution for you [know your stand in Christ];
1 Cor.2:12
‘We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.’
Believe the potential-choose to believe in that revealed divine solution instead of in the crises perceived through your five natural senses [take your stand in Christ];
Mark 9:23
‘" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."’
Contend applying the potential-use the divine solution to persistently and boldly confront the crises by the leading and power of the Holy Spirit [keep your stand in Christ]!
1 Tim.6:12
‘Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.’
In the true gospel story from Mark 4:35-41 given above, the Lord Jesus Christ acknowledged who He is and what He has; believed who He is and what He has; and contended with the crises demonstrating who He is and what He has.
Who Jesus Christ is and what He has was the divine solution for that crises.
This is the stand that the Lord Jesus Christ knew, believed and kept so as to overcome that and every other crises!
And this is a constant and universal example for all who are in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 2:21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
The ‘ABC’ process is a continuous lifetime process that guarantees any and every pilgrim on the journey of divine destiny to be an over comer in and through any crises so as to complete the journey.
2 Tim.4:7
‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’
