St Mary’s Choir is a professionally directed mixed-voice choir who sing
a wide-ranging and ambitious cathedral-style repertoire spanning over 500
years. In addition to our regular Sunday
commitment and Friday rehearsals there are occasional festivals and concerts,
radio broadcasts and cathedral visits.
Recent tours have included London (Southwark Cathedral & St
Martin-in-the-Fields 2004), St Davids Cathedral (2006), Llandaff Cathedral
(2007) Bristol, and Bangor Cathedral (2008), with a visit to Malvern Priory
planned for October 2009.
As the Parish Church of Swansea, St Mary’s (ideally placed through its
city-centre location) plays an active and important role in the civic life of
the City & County of Swansea and hosts a regular range of high-profile
events including the Lord Mayor’s Civic Service, the Annual Service of
Remembrance, RAFA Battle of Britain, and the City Carol Service. Monthly music lists are published on www.swanseastmary.fsnet.co.uk.
