URBAN FARMERS ESCAPE

Glebelands Market Garden has been a pioneering urban growing project on the banks of the Mersey in Sale, producing food for consumption within Greater Manchester.

Lesley Bryson and Adam York have been running the site for the last eight years, but from February 2009 a new team takes over the site: Glebelands City Growers. See News pages for further info on their plans and activities, which will continue to be centred around exisiting cropping.

We have produced a range of vegetables to suit the season such as courgettes and cucumbers in the summer and kale and purslane in the winter. We have also sought to extend the season by use of protected cropping - see our growing page for more info and pictures.

Adam and Lesley are escaping to the seaside in search of mild, long season cropping opportunities. However, they continue to be available for food project work, as outlined on our consultancy pages.

New! we are now adding details of cultivation techniques for individual veg, including salad leaves- see growing page for list
