LATEST NEWS Hannah is currently on tour, playing nine-year old Millie in Millie and the Minotaur for Theatr Gwent (December 2009 until March 2010). "Gary Meredith’s imaginative production eschews cosy sentimentality as it interweaves the predicament of nine-year-old Milly (a memorable portrayal of childish moods by Hannah O’Leary, alternating anxiety and optimism) with the Greek myth of the frightening Minotaur who eats children alive." John Holliday - The Stage (click here for full review)
Millie in Millie and the Minotaur Hannah currently works as a regular drama workshop leader for Theatr Ffynnon, where she worked on the recent production of Green Eyes (Feb 2010). "Work of this standard must be seen by a wider audience. Not only in Wales, but across the border, where it would stand up against any other company undertaking similar work." Philip Michell - Theatre Wales (click here for full review) In September 2009 Hannah performed in Real Live Theatre's production of EMPti, directed by Chris Durnall at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff. "...the pain felt acutely real at times... a frank and unwavering insight into the intricate threads which link family life to individual well being – and how those threads can shatter." Taylor Glen - Theatre Wales (click here for full review) In Summer 2009, Hannah played the dual roles of Hermia and Quince in an open-air production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" touring Wales with Taking Flight Theatre Company. Masha in Hit The Baby Natasha! Hannah is a founder member of theatr peña. Their debut production, "The House of Bernarda Alba" was extremely well received in February 2009. With a sell-out run at The Riverfront Theatre in Newport, the production starred some of Wales' most successful and talented actresses and production crew, alongside Hannah in the pivotal role of Martirio - click here for more details: www.theatrpena.co.uk "The tensions and frustrations in Hannah O Leary's Martirio are played with vivid fascination. All actresses meet high standards and expectations. This is challenging and rewarding theatre- played with professionalism, commitment, and quality. The extended run at the Riverfront is well deserved." Chris Paul - Theatre Critic (click here for full review) "An evening of great Welsh Theatre particularly from the performances of this excellent ensemble of many of Wales’ finest female actors. Hannah O’Leary’s Martirio is (Adela's) ideal foil, battling with her sister for Pepe’s electric touch." Michael Kelligan - Theatre Critic (click here for full review) "A draining and stimulating night of high drama imbued with a sense of total commitment from the company... a display of assured, accomplished acting from some of the best in the trade." David Adams - Western Mail
