THE PWEOR OF THE HMUAN MNID

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is that the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm.

Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Amzanig huh?

Optical.exe

I saw a real one of these on TV, it was on an old piece of footage. Anyone know anything about it? It was quite a large device a bit like an umbrella, which was spinning and he stuck the subjects head inside.

I think you stare into it for a while then look at something else and... whoa, try it, it works.

Mindreading

A trick, but fun.
The lines are all perfectly horizontal, so why does your eye swear they sloping?
There are no black dots.
There is no grey.
The middle aquare appears to be floating above the background.
It is a circle
The middle circles are the same size
Move your head for strange effect.
This appears to warp as you scroll the page, the smoother scroll you have the better it looks.
The diagonal lines are all parallel.
The verticle lines are the same length.
The lines are parallel.
The lines are parallel.

It would be interesting to write a computer program to generate and animate some of these illusions.
