A huge waste of electricity in the home is ... THE KETTLE.

Why? Because people always overfill it. For every cup of tea made, another cup of boiling water is left to go cold.

And some people fill the kettle right up.

Multiply that waste by the number of kettles that are boiled each day, and you have... a lot.

A whole power station of waste.

The solution? Simple. Don't take the kettle to the tap.

Keep a measuring jug next to the kettle, and fill that from the tap, you soon work out how much water you need , for example 1 pint of water = 2 cups of tea and a baby bottle.

Green Electricity

The biggest source of CO2 emissions is power stations.

I have been getting 100% of my electricity from renewable-sources since about 1998.

Go here to learn about getting green-electricty.

(This company is the number one supplier of green-electricity and is recommended by Friends of the Earth).

Go here for my list of alternatives to nasty chemicals. (Not a very big list at the moment, please send me any that you know).
