News on the new series!

At last I have word on the new series which starts on the 18th July 1998 on ITV here in the UK. It should start at 19:45, but watch out for regional variations (if there are any). It once again stars Neil Morrisey as Nick Cameron, and Lucy Akhurst as Alice Grant along with Mark Womack as Nick's brother, Joe.

The series will consist of 6 one hour shows written by Tony Jordan and David Fox, and made by Harbour Pictures productions. The shows were directed by Rick Stroud and Roger Bamford, although I don't know which episodes they have directed.

Guest stars include Roger Lloyd Pack, Jack Docherty, Oliver Tobias, and Denise Black as well as a goat!

The main plots see Nick working for the authorities in return for them trying to find a cure, as it looks like he may become invisible permanently! The romance I was hoping for between Nick and Alice doesn't appear to be there, although the series may have it's moments. We do see Nick getting jealous when Alice is out with another man.

For more details on the episodes see the Episode Guide. A more detailed guide will be made as soon as each episode has aired in the UK.

I have no word on why Anothony Horowitz did not write the series, seeing as he wrote the pilot last year. We will have to wait and see if Fox and Jordan can keep the same magic that Horowitz started, going.

Yes, those of you that buy the Radio Times will have seen in the latest issue (10 - 16 January 1998) that The Vanishing Man is being repeated on Saturday the 10th January at 20:00 hours! on ITV.

Please note I only know the Meridian Network in the south of England will be showing it! Please check your own TV listings guide for regional variations. You may find some ITV regions won't be showing it on the same day, or even at all!

Vanishing Man starts filming for New series!

TV Zone has reported in its latest issue (#97) that Neil Morrisey is currently filming the first series of The Vanishing Man after the success of the pilot shown earlier this year. It's only a small piece (on page 11), so alas we don't know anymore, such as how long the series is going to be, or when it will be shown, although hopes are high for at least eight episodes, and an autumn 1998 broadcast! (Okay so I made that last bit up - I can dream can't I??!!)

If you know anymore about the new series I'd love to hear from you! Drop me a line on liane@vanishingman.co.uk.
