Russel has a problem. His sex life with his wife is in great shape; but he's impotent with his mistress. His friend Luis has an explanation: his relationship with Elly revolves entirely around sex, so that puts pressure on him to perform. He should do something else with her; visit a gallery, perhaps, or go away for a weekend. Inspired, Russel tells Susanna he wants to go away for a weekend…to renew his creative juices and write some great music. She completely falls for this lie. Russel feels like a total shit. Elly and Russel go to Margate for the weekend, and revel in the kitsch naffness of the place. Russel meets an OLD MAN who is having his 65th wedding anniversary party at the hotel. Impressed, Russel asks the old man how he and his wife knew they were meant for each other. The old man's answer is simple: 'When I kissed her - I floated.' Susanna visits Luis, worried about the state of her marriage; she thinks it's her fault because she doesn't know how to be a fun person. Elly and Russel, meanwhile, have a glorious time in Margate. And when Russel kisses Elly - the pair of them float high into the air above Margate pier… |
