Russel, madly in love and behaving like an idiot, follows Elly through Columbia Market. She is furious with him for his behaviour the night before; he's an adulterer, how dare he take the moral high ground? But Russel wins her round with his hapless charm.

Luis, meanwhile, meets an adorable man with a shared taste for action movies. His name is PIERS, and he gives Luis his telephone number. But Luis, naturally, hasn't got the courage to phone him up to arrange a date. Luis - despite his part time career as a transvestite cabaret performer - is basically very shy.

Russel and Susanna have lunch. Susanna is aware that she's become the sort of woman that men respect and fear rather than flirt with and cuddle, and she's not happy about it. But there's warmth between the two of them that reminds Russel of how much he loves his wife. Later, Elly tells him she's a 'living for the moment' kind of woman. But which woman does Russel love? He sleeps with Elly; then goes home to his wife. He sits on the bed, lipsynching to the lyrics of an All Saints song: 'Never ever.'
