New Series starts!

The BBC commissioned a series after a successful pilot shown in Dec 1998 and repeated last year. The series was filmed in February this year and starts on BBC1 on Tuesday 27th June 2000 at 22:20hrs GMT (it will be repeated on Friday 30th June 2000 at 23:20). The series is six, half-hour, episodes long.

Changes from the pilot are mainly to be seen in the form of a new actress playing Russell's wife. Kate Isitt was unavailable for filming due to her commitments on "Coupling" a new BBC2 comedy/drama. Stepping into her shoes is Simone Bendix who has also appeared in Bugs. Victor McGuire reprises his role as Russels' best friend Luis Banks, and Kate Ashfield again plays Elly Rawsthorne, the woman who Russell has an affair with. Paul Trussell returns as Russell's useless agent, Alistair. Paul has also been in Crime Traveller and the Vanishing Man. Joining the cast is Josie Lawrence who plays Camilla, Elly's strange landlady and Patrick Robinson who plays Piers, a new love interest for Luis. Patrick is better known for his stint in Casualty.
