Churchill Forge water mill was one of the last working water powered forge mills in Britain, and was until the early 1970s producing metal tools such as spades, shovels and ladles. As such it is an important example of the industrial history and, to ensure that it is not lost to future generations is now being restored as a working museum.

The forge is opened to the public at selected days through the summer when visitors can see water wheels turning and the machinery being driven. Open days are normally held on Easter Monday and the on the second Sunday of each of the following months until October with full weekend openings in May and September. See "Visiting Churchill Forge" for full details of the opening programme.
