Word Grid

Instructions

Word Grid is a free single player word game where you have to try and score as many points as you can by making words horizontally or vertically on the play area.

To start a new game, click the 'New Game' button.

You will be given a letter in the top left corner, use the keyboard to move the letter to where you want it to go and then drop it onto the game area.

The controls are:

Up Arrow = Up
Down Arrow = Down
Left Arrow = Left
Right Arrow = Right
Space = Drop letter

Letters can't move diagonally or through other letters already placed.

The minimum word length to begin with is 4 letters, this goes up after you have made 25, 50 and 75 words in your game.

The letters have different values with the harder letters to use being worth more. Look on the left to see how much a letter is worth. You can get bonus points for making longer words, see the top right corner of the game window for the bonuses. For example, if you make an 8 letter word that has letter values totalling 10 points then the value of that word is multiplied by 9 to score 90 points. If you make a long word like STRAINED, then you also score points for smaller words inside that word like STRAIN, TRAINED, TRAIN, RAINED, RAIN.

There are some statistics on the right of the game window that tell you how many words you have found, how many of each length of word you have found, your highest scoring word, your highest scoring drop and your overall score.

Your game is over when you have no more room for new letters to appear in the top left corner of the game area so try not to block off the top left corner of the grid.

Word Pyramids - Word Pyramids is a free online single player word game. You begin with 2 letters at the top of the pyramid. On each word you have to add another letter and rearrange them to form a new word to try and fill up the word pyramid. There are 5 pyramids in each game and the aim is to score as many points as you can. There are 2 skill levels, the easy version goes up to 7 letter words and the harder version goes up to 10 letter words.
