TRAVIS

a Britpop hating punk rock fan's opinion

  TRAVIS

Travis are one of those occasional examples of a band breaking through to the mainstream who actually deserve their success.
I'm not one for slow music so I was surprised by how much I liked 'The Man Who' album - the songs really do grow on you but even on the first listen they have a certain feel that is intriguing.Reflective without being depressing and genuinly great (and memorable) tunes. These are real songs with melodies you remember. There is not a single track I dislike - since my appetite for music first exploded in 1977 there have been few albums on which I have not skipped at least one track.

In 20 years time this album will still be on my personal playlist alongside all the usual punk stuff.
