RONALDO DEAL AGREED!!
Despite various rumours still kicking around the newspapers this morning, it's widely believed that Manchester United and Ronny have agreed terms on a new contract. This ends months of speculation about where Ronny's future lies - he's staying at Old Trafford for the next five years!
After two seasons at OT, Ronny was only earning about £20,000 per week - which is almost a quarter of the wages of the likes of Roy Keane and Ryan Giggs - so a new deal had to be arranged, and, to be fair, Ronny deserves every penny of the new deal. He'll be the best player in the world in a few years, so United need to make sure that he's kept happy!
The clinching of the deal will hopefully put a stop to all the rumours linking him to Real Madrid - as a straight £18m transfer, or in exchange for Micheal Owen and cash.
And it's a rare piece of good news for United fans. Now that Glazer has enough shares to de-list the club from the Stock exchange, and has saddled the club with massive debts (Interest charges of £40,000 per DAY!), things are starting to look bleak.
Ronny has not yet signed the deal, which will be worth about £70,000 per week, as he's busy on holiday, and doing charity work in Aceh (for the Tsunami appeal).
But he'll sign it as soon as he's back - United players are due back in training on June 27th.
