REAL DEAL? SWAP FOR OWEN?

Real Madrid have apparently offered United the chance to swap 20 year old Portuguese wonderkid Cristiano Ronaldo, for an aging Michael Owen, who has struggled to find form in the past two seasons. Presumerably, there is also a fair amount of money involved in the package that could see Ronny heading off to the Bernabeu.

Quite why United need another striker is unsure, and why on earth they'd sell Ronny is even more uncertain - but the Daily Mirror have the "exclusive story".

It is (hopefully) just transfer tittle-tattle, and Ronny won't be going anywhere!

Elsewhere, United have signed Ronny a new team-mate - they paid £2m for Edwin Van Der Sar, the Dutch International Goalkeeper. The 34 year old will hopefully come in and do somethingthat Roy Carroll could not (Like catch the ball?!).

United are also close to signing Park Ji-Sung, a South Korean International Midfielder, who charges around the pitch like a pit-bull. United have offered PSV £3m, and the deal is expected to be concluded in the next few days (And in time for United's tour of South East Asia).

Finally, John Obi Mikel, the teenage prodigy we signed last month, has tried to escape his contract. After Chelsea offered him more money to sign for them, he has made press releases about "Being forced to sign". He's supposed to be a good footballer, but after all the messing around, the United faithful might prefer him not to come.
