RONALDO SAVES PORTUGAL. AGAIN.
Estonia 0 - 1 Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo headed Portugal further on their way to Germany 2006, with a powerful header, glanced in from a Luis Figo cross, sealing their victory against minnows Estonia.
The goal came after sustained pressure by the Portuguese, and was Ronaldo’s second chance of the game – his first effort was charged down by the Estonian ‘keeper.
Figo has been rumoured to be heading to Manchester United, and with teamwork like that displayed, anyone can see why Fergie wants to partner Figo and Ronaldo. Figo’s cross was with pinpoint accuracy, allowing Ronaldo to leap high against the defender, and head the ball home.
Portugal now stand three points clear of Slovakia, with four games to go, and six points clear of third place (second place would see them qualify for the Playoffs), so its all looking good for Scolari, and more importantly, Ronaldo!
