    Welcome to the official website of Steven Wharton's 150 mile hike from his home in Hayes, Middlesex to his childhood home of Axbridge in Somerset.

    The Walk 2K01 will take place from Saturday 1st September, and hopes to raise money for Penniwells, a riding school for the disabled.
 

FOOT AND MOUTH
    As everyone is aware there has been a particularly vicious outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease, with many restrictions being imposed.  Unfortunately, these affect long stretches of the proposed route, which has been postponed to September.  Most local footpaths in the West Country are out of bounds and even Cheddar Gorge is closed to pedestrians, although ironically motor vehicles are still allowed.

    Fortunately Penniwells has not had to close although everyone visiting the centre now has to go through a foot wash.

T-SHIRT COMPETITION
    We are running a T-shirt competition to design a really cool T-shirt for all the walkers to wear on the walk.
