Club Rules

The Rules of the club London Amateur Wrestlers is made up of the following constituents;

1. Club Constitution
2. General Rules
3. FILA Olympic Freestyle Rules Competition Regulations







































1. CLUB CONSTITUTION
The Constitution governing the club is held at the central committee of LAW at Allboxes office and is available to members of the club London Amateur Wrestlers on request in writing.

2. GENERAL RULES

Here contains the set of General Rules applicable to all members and guests of LAW and all its affiliated clubs and groups. Where a rule contained here contradicts a similar rule laid out by an affiliate, the former takes precedence. The said affiliate may appeal to the LAW committee.

Where appropriate, the term "club" mentioned in the text here refers to the London Amateur Wrestlers and all it's affiliated clubs and groups.

All members and guests are requested to abide by the rules set here.

A. Housekeeping Rules
A1. Management
A1.1 exercise our club's equal opportunity status throughout
A1.2. abide ay all the supplementary rules of each affiliated group/club appropriately
A1.3. maintain membership is up to date with the club during all association with club activities
A1.4 settle all outstanding financial dues owed to the club promptly without being asked

A2. Conduct
A2.1. act accordingly and do not bring disrepute to the nature and goodname/will of the club
A2.2. refrain from any activities that may affect the club in anyway whatsoever
A2.3. accepts full responsibilities for all actions and liabilities for all risks and losses
A2.4. exercise caution and sporting spirit at all times

A3. Disclaimer
A3.1. agrees not to hold the club responsible and/or liable in anyway whatsoever

B. Practice Rules
B1. Wrestlers
B1.1. ensure that you are healthy and fit enought to particpate
B1.2 follow the rules governing the particular grappling type you're engaging in
B1.3 ensure the highest level of personal hygiene
B1.4 have your LAW identification card with you ready for inspection during all club events
B1.5 pay all practice fees (session, insurance etc) applicable prior to commemence of practice
B1.6 ensure all your payments are made in correct denomination
B1.7 wear correct practice attire and footwear if applicable as follows;
B1.7.a olympic wrestling - minimum - groin supporters, shorts, teeshirt/vest, wrestling shoes
B1.7.b submission - minimum - groin supporters, shorts
B1.8. refrain from practice if not in fit health
B1.9. notify the club immediately if you are suffering from any contagious infection e.g ring worm, athlete's foot etc
B1.10. notify the club in writing if any health issues affects you e.g asthma prior to practice
B1.11. a whistle blow means an immediate halt to anything you are doing in a practice
B1.12. ensure your nails are cut back and not protruding
B1.13. no artificial body artifacts e.g rings, watches, earrings, piercings etc
B1.14. follow all supplementary rules in effect at that time
B1.15. follow the instructions of the coach & session officer at all times
B1.16. no image capturing i.e photographs or videos whatsoever
B1.17. no telephones
Important - anyone found capturing images during any practice will be required to surrender their data storage medium under The Protection of Children Act 1999.
B1.18. do not commence training without the permission of a qualified coach presant

C. Submission Wrestling
C1. only train under the full inspection of your coach, referee or appointed official
C2. correct practice attire - see B1.7.b above
C3. obtain submission by allowing your opponent the opportunity to submit
C3. prohibitive moves include;
C3a. any injurious acts e.g. gouging, fish hooking, flesh penetration, heel hooks etc
C3b. spinal contraction e.g. boston crab, spinal twist. surfboards, back breakers etc
C3c. grabbing of private body parts
C3d. sudden jerks or extension
C3e. high drops e.g pile driving etc
C3f. grabbing of hair, fingers, attired or any gear worn
C3e. biting of any bodily parts or clothing etc
C4. submission is by uttering "submit" loudly or tapping rapidly on opponent or on mat surface
C5. on a submission, BOTH wrestlers must cease wrestling immediately

C. Supporters
B2.1 no unauthorised spectating during practice unless permission granted by the club
B2.2 if permission granted to spectate, above rules B1 applies here where appropriate
