BIOGRAPHY OF HECTOR MARSH
Tec Marsh (he was never known as Hector let
alone his full name of Hector MacDonald Baden Powell Marsh) was born on
September 26th 1900. He was one of 12 children and attended the National School,
which later became St Mary's and is now a private school called the Lammas.
On leaving school at 14 he spent his entire working life down the pit first at
Welbeck and later at Rufford Colliery.
In 1921 he married Mabel Booth. They lived at 62, Derby Street, Mansfield
and later moved next door to No. 60. They had two children Harry and Mabel.
Mabel senior died in 1949.
'Tec remarried in 1953, to Winnie Cook, and they continued to live at 60 Derby
Street where they remained for the rest of their lives.
'Tec died on August 18th 1988. He is survived by his two children Harry
Marsh and Mabel Gregson who continue to live in Sutton in Ashfield. He had
5 grandchildren who live all over the world and who are responsible for this web
site. There are 12 great grandchildren, two were born before he died and
one of which can remember him.
