Before Treatment (above) the patient's lower jaw is positioned anterior to the upper, the reverse of the correct position. The lateral ceph. X ray shows the prominent position of the lower jaw.

After Treatment  the teeth have been moved with fixed orthodontic appliances to the best position for surgery which has been used to move the maxilla (top jaw) forward and the lower back. The lateral ceph. X ray shows the post operative position and the titanium plates used to hold the position during healing.
