FOXTON GARDENS BRIDGE CLUB. March. Our winners on January 23rd were Carole Parker and Nigel Oakley. Hilary and Alan Mycroft were the runners up, John Charter and Barbara Orchard with John and Ruth Coats came third. We fielded three tables only. On February 13th,in spite of a double booking with Foxton Gardens Association, we fielded three and a half tables. Tony Orchard and Margaret Cox with Walter and Dagny Shaw came top. Carole and Nigel Oakley were the runners up. Tony Orchard and Alex Alexander have been making a cabinet to house our tables, equipment and refreshments so they can be kept together in one place. The cabinet should definitely be ready for our next meeting. Those who have been running the Bridge Club until now have put forward a suggestion to make a Rota of Members willing to act as directors for an evening. This Duty should only come round once a year if every member takes a turn. The new cabinet will make this task very easy, especially as everyone seems to muck in and give a hand. We meet again on February 27th when Carol Graves will be our Hostess; and on March 12.th when Nigel Oakley will be in the Chair.
